Mayra Mejia (She/Her) is a freelance fashion and culture writer, body liberation advocate, and founder.

During her time as managing editor at The Curvy Fashionista, (a leading plus-size digital media platform centering plus size fashion and lifestyle) she led an all-woman team of writers and editors and significantly increased traffic and visibility to the publication.

Currently assisting local and national publications to increase their fashion and culture coverage to ensure inclusivity and diversity. You can find her work in NBC News Think, Brides, Byrdie, Refinery29, and District Fray Magazine, to name a few.

Passionate about fostering inclusive spaces, she founded PLUSH DMV, a Washington DC-based fat-positive community, in 2019.
